How it Works
Lip lift procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia. It takes about an hour to complete. During the procedure, Dr. Shamouelian creates an incision along the base of the nose. A small area of the skin will then be removed in order to lift the lip upward and to increase the extent of the visible pink in the upper lip. After detailed and patient specific adjustments, the incision is meticulously closed with sutures, which will are typically removed after about a week.

Some patients are simply born with a thin, long upper lip and are great candidates for this procedure. However, most people acquire this look with age due to loss of skin elasticity and the long-term effects of gravity. What to Expect After the Procedure

Most patients go back to work after about a few days, once the sutures have been removed. However, physical activities and strenuous exercises should be avoided for at least 2-3 weeks following the procedure. The full result will be visible within a few weeks after the scar has become barely noticeable.
